Melodie is a talented painter and collage artist working in Minneapolis. She’s changing the way she interacts with paint and canvas, building works by quite literally laying paint onto a canvas. Her Layers are stunning in person, with vivid, sharply defined colors and an unfamiliar texture.
Melodie also works on a smaller scale creating delightful multimedia collages. I love the sense of space she creates in a very small object, using a very small amount of material. Her unexpected use of fabric, needle and thread on paper in these collages continues the theme of using a medium outside its ordinary purpose. View more of Melodie’s work on her website.
